Hello Diehards:

We're happy to report that we're going to continue to take reservations beyond the 2-23 deadline. The original deadline was necessary in order to get enough checks in hand so that we could cover the minimum guarantee and sign the hotel contract. Now that we've accomplished that, we'll continue to take additional reservations for a while longer.

However, at some point, we may have to limit the number of attendees, so we'd suggest that your get your reservation and check in as soon as you know that you'll be able to attend. Otherwise, you just might get shut out. If we do have to turn folks away, the date of the receipt of your check will be the determining factor. Here's the revised announcement with all the details.

We are pleased to announce that Diehards VI will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Alexandria, VA, starting at 2PM on Sunday, June 10, 2007 and ending at noon on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Alexandria, VA is just across the river from Washington DC, and is minutes from Ronald Reagan National Airport. The Washington DC Metro subway system is just across the street from the Embassy Suites, and provides easy access to area attractions. There is a local Dash Bus that shuttles to close historical sites, shopping and restaurants.

Our special guests for Diehards VI include our mentor, Jack Bogle, authors Bill Bernstein and Rick Ferri, Duke University Economics Professor Ed Tower, and Morningstar's Sue Stevens. Jack Bogle is attending specifically to meet with the Bogleheads, so this is a unique and rare opportunity.

We'll start with a wine and cheese reception on Sunday, meet with our panel of distinguished guests all day Monday with a lunch buffet, and a plated dinner (with open cash bar) on Monday evening. We'll wrap up the meeting on Tuesday morning with additional time to meet with our authors.

The registration fee for this meeting is $189 per person. This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and covers the day and a half of meetings, the reception, lunch, and dinner on Monday, as well as the meeting room rental and audio equipment we'll need for the question and answer sessions. We ask that you make your reservation and mail in your registration fee as soon as you know you'll be able to attend.

To make your reservation for the meeting, please send an email with your Morningstar login name, your real name, and your contact information to DiehardsVI@yahoo.com ASAP. Ed Rager, who is the coordinator of the Washington DC area chapter of the Diehards, will respond with details regarding where to send your non-refundable registration fee. Once your payment is received, he will advise out-of-town Diehards of the procedure for reserving a room at the Embassy Suites Hotel at a discounted rate of $199 per night (versus the regular rate of $269 per night). The Embassy Suites is holding a limited number of suites at this special rate. This reduced rate also includes a full breakfast each morning and a Manager's wine reception each evening. The suites sleep four, for those of you who are planning to bring family members

We look forward to another exciting time meeting with Jack Bogle and our author friends, as well as seeing each of you again, and meeting some of you for the first time.

Mel, Taylor & Ed Rager
