My subscribion was automatically renewed at $160 per year. Quite a jump from the $115 I paid the previous year. I immediatelly canceled the subscribtion for Premium service. Hopefully other's have had better results in securing the Premium service at the $115 price.

Wow, that is quite a jump. I too subscribe to the Premium. It seems to me that they are having more and more tech problems on the net. In fact, I am getting very pissed off at times.

I know that Fido account holders get a discount.  I'm pretty sure TRP gives it to you free with > $100K in assets.

M* membership may not be for everyone. Personally, they are the only service I know of which is this complete. From a fund perspective you get true analysis of the fund. Then with stocks they are the only ones that focus primarily on the fundamental aspects of the business at a reasonable cost. Most other services are misleading, more salesmanship then actual quality of analysis. So then I reread your posts and it does seem like you value the service, but not enough to pay the full price. Perhaps you can call and negotiate your rate. Keep in mind that the way m* works it is cheaper for them to keep versus lose a customer.

Now maybe the other side is that you might want to try out a lesser version of the site? They also have a library edition that many county libraries subscribe too. While the service is slimmed down quite a bit, it still gets you into the heart of the analyst views. Perhaps this version of Morningstar's services is right for you! Just a thought since I know despite some issues that are true of any analytical service, they really do point people in the right direction.

Glad to see that others are having the same miserable experience!!!  I cannot navigate around the constant popups for the 14 day trial offer.  I have been a member for a couple of years, but I am  ready to look for an alternative.  The IT manager should wake up to the fact that using this service is a miserable and frustrating experience.  Too bad.  I will miss the range of information even though I have found that I could not put too much stock in their analyses.

After logging into your Fido brokerage account, click "Research" > "Stocks".

Then, down on the left-hand side of the page, click "Research Offers".

You should find a link stating that you can save 60% on a premium membership, but it's really only about 34% ($105).

Hope this helps.

I'm a "newbie" my membership began Aug.25th, and I believe I was charged $159.00, seems like a fair price, one of the main reasons I belong is to read all the messages you  as a group have to say about cef's.

I haven't been able to garner as much info on closed-end funds as I have learned from you guys,(speaking in the vernacular ladies),I love to read all the ideas you offer in this discussion group. I was introduced to cefs 2 and a half years ago by my cpa who showed me 3 funds and I became addicted.

The only book I've been able to find is by Fredman/Scott published in 1991. It's good but you know how much changed since 1991. Please don't leave me now, and I don't work for Morningstar, I'm old enough to retire but still work here in Okla. City Ok,zip 73159. I think everything is going up price-wise. Well, that's my 2 cents. Copper

I agree.

I have been a member for 3 years.  The price has continually risen, and I have made suggestions via email, but have never seen results (now I'm sending suggestions via the forum--we'll see if anything happens).  There are only marginal improvements in the tools I use (Fund Screener and Portfolio Manager/X-Ray).

I might be ok with price increases, but these are excessive.

I am VERY disappointed (and have been since I joined) that Premium members must be subjected to the constant flashing ads and pop-ups.  We PAID to get access to the site.  Leave us be!

M* are you listening?

My pop-up stopper (Zone Alarm Pro) works just as well on M* as on all other sites.
