BRK and its pot of money

It seems like every day that BRK doesn't do a bailout deal the price of the stock goes up.

I am a little surprised that AIG didn't have any businesses that BRK wanted... Buffett must not have been able to get a price he felt comfortable with.

What do you think?  Buffett going to pick up any distressed assets?

Certainly his phone is ringing off the hook, but there must be a good reason he's staying away form this mess.

I would not be surprised at all to see Berkshire buy some of the AIG subsidiaries when the federal government begins selling them off.  One subsidiary in particular might be AIG's aircraft leasing subsidiary.  From what I understand, it throws off a large and predictable cash flow stream, and Berkshire already has some experience in aircraft with NetJets.  There doesn't seem to be much urgency to buy anything quickly now, since it seems like everything will be perpetually cheaper the next day.

Reports were that Berkshire was in talks with AIG over purchasing some of their assets just before the Fed bridge loan.  A number of AIG assets should be interesting to Berkshire, I would think.

Now that AIG has access to the money, I doubt they do much for a year, waiting for the crisis to die down, they now have that luxury. WB had his best shot before the loan.

AIG should IPO it's most valuable assets when the market is better. Unless a great price comes along.

Berkshire just picked up Constellation Energy via it's subsidiary MidAmerican. After watching it crater this week, Constellation must have been a sweet deal. One of the bigger companies in the S&P500, and one the of biggest energy providers in the country bought for a song.
