Heh Heh!

While on the Oprah show, Oprah was having difficulty in determining what Babs was, in terms of her affair with Senator Brooke. Babs shook off mistress, fiercely stating no man supported her.

Later on I heard that one of Babs' former yackmasters, Starr, thought she defined Babs perfectly, she called her an adulterer. Tho, technically Babs might not have been, as she wasn't married. Senator Brooke was, however.

Babs was NOT amused!

Side Note: Senator Brooke was the first African-American elected by popular vote to the US Senate; he was elected as a Republican in 1966. Twenty-seven years passed until another African-American was elected to the Senate.

Rick, I remember Senator Brooke from back in the day.  He evidently hasn't commented on this revelation so far, correct?

What puzzles me is why, at this late date, is she talking about it?  If he were no longer living and she wanted to put this recollection of their affair in her memoirs, that's one thing.  But what's the point now of naming names?

Obviously she doesn't need publicity.

Human beings never cease to fascinate.

QH, I often wonder about these celeb secrets sharing. Maybe Babs wanted to show everyone that she could take a walk on the wild side, also, and have an affair.

I mean, who really cares, except the two (three if you counted Brooke's wife) involved?

It slays me to see other poor fools (many with children) open up and air their dirty laundry on a show, like Dr.Phil. Next day the kids are razzed, "Your mom is a ***," or "Your dad is a perve" and so on.

I mean, Babs, are you proud you slept with another woman's husband? Or is this a symbolic hair shirt you are wearing; by telling everyone? Do you want approval? If you want forgiveness, call Brooke's ex-wife. Don't expect anything either way from me. I have no reason to care.

I find myself caring less and less about more and more today.

Personal Life

The father of two daughters and a son, Brooke currently lives in Miami with his second wife, Anne.

On May 1, 2008, it was revealed that Barbara Walters wrote in her upcoming memoir Audition that she had an affair lasting several years with Brooke during the 1970s, while Brooke was married to his first wife. Walters said that the affair ended to protect both of their careers from possible scandal.[4] When asked for a comment, Mr. Brooke refused stating that he does not talk about his or other people's private lives.[5]

Why tell now?  How hurtful is right.

Brittney.....who is Brittney? ;-)

I don't care, but I think her children would be better off raised by wolves, you know, something with a stronger maternal instinct.

Some shrink several years from now is going to make a fortune off her kids.

It's too bad that Gilda Radner isn't around anymore.  I'm sure there's another BaBa WaWa spoof in here somewhere.

It's amazing what people will do for money. Or to sell a book.

How can revealing this information help anyone but her bottom line?
