I wonder if Morningstar analysts' articles are ever edited for corrections, or if corrections can be added as a footnote?
Specifically, I am referring to the story Funds Bit By Bear Stearns, which indicates that ACGIX was "bit by the Bear." To the contrary, the Van Kampen website offers the following disclaimer:
Van Kampen Mutual Funds, as of Friday March 14, 2008, held no positions in Bear Stearns equity securities.
Perhaps a new article is in order, Funds that Dodged the Bear Bullet...
We used the portfolio reported to the SEC on 12/31/07, the most recently reported portfolio, to inform this article. Since the article was written, Van Kampen has revealed that ACGIX sold its Bear Stearns stake.
Thanks,
M*_Casey
I'm wondering though if articles are ever corrected or annotated when later found to contain inaccurate data? How many people have been exposed to the incorrect information in the time since Van Kampen clarified their position?
