Insiders have been picking up odd lots of this stock at around $24 per share for the past several months.  It sold off this morning to a 52 week low of about $17.50.  It seems to have a product line that should have a very bright future and is turning a profit.   What is not to like about this thing?

I don't know, but I started buying like a frenzied warthog at the close today. It was just one of those days that opportunity knocks. It is good to have some dry powder.

Maybe the fact that it even at 17.50, it's trading at 125x earnings???? I'd love to know who is shorting this stock, but can't seem to find any info. Anybody have any ideas?

Cheers, Steve

It is an interesting company with a bright future. They have a technology that is used by utility companies and other manufacturing companies to make the emmisions cleaner. They also have a subsidiary in China and if you want an indirect play on China, this is a good one to take a shot at.

I am watching them but I just don't think the timing is quite right at this point in time. As someone else wrote, they are pricey and in this market, speculative. I am waiting for one more drop. Otherwise, I just as soon wait until their next earnings comes out since they took a big drop after their last earnings were announced. If I have to pay a little more later on, so be it.

FTEK had a surge in price on heavier than average volume in the last hour of trading today.  This pattern usually means a gap up at the open in the morning.  Some follow thru after the gap would be a signal that this stock is ready for a run up.  If there is no follow thru within 4 hours or so the price will probably drop to fill the gap.

3/17/08 appears to be an island reversal but I am not for sure.  When it was bid above 20 I put on a trailing stop and have been stopped out. It was a lot better buying when I did than to buy when others were saying "it's time to buy", back in the high 20's. The overall market will tell the tale. It appears to be in a long term uptrend but I'm not a long time trader. At the present I am short the S&P by using the etf SDS.

It is hard to figure out what's going on. I am also short oil and gas by using the etf DUG but it is kicking my behind.  Don't base your stock buying or selling on what I post. Listen to the pro's.

I listen to some of them. ;)

Well, I got the drop that I was waiting for last month and went in @ $17.2. I think they are a long term hold and I look forward to good things later on.

I am not a technical guy but if I was, today looks like a break out.

Yes, and what a break.  There was some established resistance at the 21/22 range. Once it managed to pop over 22, it was off to the races.  There isn't much on the chart to slow it down until we get to the 28 level so this could be a dandy run in a bear market.  I would like to see some heavy volume sustained along with the price rise over a few days.

"Law pity me". That was as close to cussin' as my grandma ever came. She didn't know what a stock was but she could read signs, like when a hen started clucking, it was time to gather eggs. Sometimes I think she was smarter than most now days.

FTEK will probably sell off tomorrow on profit taking. If you don't like to trade in and out then it will probably go up over time.

A wise man would probably have already taken his profits on this move, but since we had an intraday consolidation and correction, I am still sitting tight.  The stock does have a history of stringing a couple of these days together.  Anyway, I never was very wise.

There was a large lot traded near the close but I don't know if they were buying or selling.

I guess somebody sold and somebody bought!

It did not close below the 50 dma so you may be safe. I hope so.

Good luck.

Excellant observation.   I checked the 1 minute intraday chart and it looks like at 2 minutes before the close a large transaction went thru on an uptick, so I would call it a buy.   Todays chart looked like the stock is building a base from which to go higher.  We'll see what happens.
