Re: Now look who wants a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq... ChefJeff  07-09-2008, 11:38 AM | Post #2537166

First, nowhere has the Iraqi government called for withdrawal of US troops.  They simply said they wanted a date for troop withdrawal in any security agreement.  That withdrawal date could be 99 years from now.  Despite Obama, Soros, and Babs, that is not going to happen next Monday at 2:37 PM.

Has anybody ever wondered why we are still in Cuba? We have a treaty with the Cuban government granting us use of Gitmo for a long long time.

Second, the US has not conquered Iraq.  Iraq is a soveriegn country, and the US will leave whenever the legitamate government of Iraq asks us to.  The Iraqi's are not stupid.  They may say one thing for domestic political consumption, but the government is in no hurry to kick out their protectors.
