Now is the wrong time to buy intermediate and long term bonds. Wait it out in a money market and/or CD for a few years until inflation is under control. Interest rates will be on the rise in 2009 and CDs will be paying higher rates so those are going to be good options for risk adverse investors in the not too distant future.
