Bullwinkle,
And very important - the children of illegals are NOT US citizens.
If they're born in the US they ARE US citizens. Many pregnant mothers make the decision to illegally enter the US to give birth. The hospitals offer good care, it's free and it's easier for the parents to become US citizens. Here's a quote from an article written by CBS.
"They're given instant citizenship because they are born on U.S. soil, which makes it easier for their parents to become U.S. citizens." (LINK)
On the sunday talk shows, you always hear every politician saying that we can't deport 20 or so million illegals. Why not?
First off, just about anything is possible if you have the resources. Even though it could be done, it would cost a fortune and would be a logistical nightmare.
I have a feeling we have similar views on immigration. I do not like most of the democrats views on the issue of illegal immigration. In my opinion, the first thing we need to do is properly secure our borders. It is way too easy to illegally enter our country.
