EXTRACT: “The G-8 will implement aggressive midterm total emission reduction targets on a country-by-country basis," he said. … The White House quickly hailed the agreement and said it was a validation of Bush's global warming policy.”

How about that?   After refusing to acknowledge global warming, and trying to silence science critics within the govt , Bush finally “goes green”  and agrees the U.S. should participate in emissions reduction  targets.   Course, HE won’t have to actually do anything – he will be leaving that to his successor to do.

Typical Bush, by agreeing to targets, his legacy shows he is “green”, but by delaying until the last few months, he feels no political heat when it comes to actually DOING something.   Kinda sounds like what he has done with Iraq,  our budget deficits, etc.

Have to admit the guy does seem to be a political genius.   Evil and demented.  But a genius.
