Is it time? alienkeeper  07-08-2008, 8:14 AM | Post #2536727  |

Is it time to reinvest in other American Funds? Am presently, as part of my ROTH, invested in CWGIX and AGTHX Have been in AGTHX about 8 years and CWGIX about 3 years .Difficult to decide whether to invest in other funds of American to secure capital or wait until market turns. When the market turns this is going to be the greatest buying opportunity probably in the last 40 years or more especially in the Financals and Homebuilding stocks as well as many othe areas which are in many American Funds. Will the funds that I have mentioned lead the charge or would one wait? Then it becomes a TIMING OF THE MARKET something that is very difficult and few people are correct. Is it wise to get out and hop in something to preserve capital or just ride the storm. I just gave someone the same advice. There is something I should have done is not be with a full service broker such as Smith Barney since one cannot purchase NO-Load Funds unless you do it on your own by taking your money out. I have wanted to purchase CGMFX since it was in the 30's and CGMRX when it was 27 which have done great especially Heebner's Focus Fund. The realty fund has done great too.Realize that this is an American Funds forum but I had to say this and Heebner's luck cannot go on at this pace.

Getting to the point where I have to preserve capital for retirement but do not want to miss this STOCK MARKET ROCKET because when it lifts off it will not stop at the MOON but way beyond. At the same time it might be a few years with all our energy problems which is crippling all of our economy.
