In deciding to trade stocks, one thing you need is volatiliy... it increases the potential of the trade. The trader (should) love volatility, while us passive investors aren't particularly fond of it. China stocks are, if nothing else, volatile.
I recently read Jim Rogers book I refer to above. As much as he loves China, even Mr Rogers trades the Chinese stocks. I heard him say in a recent interview that he had sold all his emerging market stocks, but was thinking of getting back in if they dropped much more.
I'm pretty content with my MACSX... I really don't think that I can do better.
