apologies Joe8d---------guess it never occured to me that any others were left in dial-up after I finally made the switch----I had assumed I was the last hold-out.  Joe the amount of additional education and guidance the addtional speed can tap you into to help you better invest your money is well worth the extra few bucks going highspeed IMO coming from one whose not loose with the bucks.   I'd guess your issues are more dial-up based than *M based. I didnt like the format changes either when introduced but quite fine with them now---I doubt they would have had the dial-uppers in mind when making the improvements . I'm hardly an official Diehard but read this forum daily---I know some of the Boglehead crowd like to disparage this forum that gave theirs its roots and I overreacted to what I saw as a potshot----------my apologies to you.
