I agree with some of what you say, Limoman. LOL!
Then again, you say that They've ( Europe/Int'l) has just Begun going Down the Tubes and will go down even harder... Just like it has in the past Bear Market yrs... and be remined on how Dependent they really are on the USA.. and then We " Americans" will come in and buy everything up again, while they're down in the Dumps and own even More of them... And hate us for it...
Yes and no. They'll hate us regardless of what we do... and regardless of whether we're globally dominant or withered by the exchange rates. ("They" meaning anyone of non-US origin.)
I don't know about US buying other nations' assets, though. What I've heard lately are numerous larger US companies possibly being taken over by internationals. BUD, for one. Lucent happened (and has done nothing since)... and I've heard quite recently of several other possible takeovers, hostile and friendly. Why are international companies shopping the US markets? Cuz the exchange rates are killing us right now and that gives them a lot more buying power. I've also read where Europeans come over to NYC and use the Euro to buy stuff. They're laughing all the way to the bank.

Susan
