DI: Does Grizzly Short qualify as a Roach Punching fund? AP headline: "Concerns about credit, housing wipe $1.3 trillion from S&P 500's financial companies in 2008." This financial crisis has been a grinding, drawn-out process. It makes me wonder whether this time the Hindenburg Omen might not presage a single catastrophic crash, but a slow-motion financial disaster. The Hindenburg was filled with highly inflammable hydrogen when it burst into flame and crashed in 34 seconds in 1937. The U.S.S. Akron was filled with helium but 73 Navy airmen and passengers died when it nosedived into the Atlantic Ocean and sank during a storm in 1933.
