Why short term bond funds don't own below BB bonds do_assetalloc  07-06-2008, 11:52 AM | Post #2536029

All,

I continue to find short term junk bonds very interesting. I started researching for funds that deploy the strategy - so I can get a feel for returns of this strategy. But to my surprise I haven't found a decent fund that owns short term Below BB ratings bonds as fund strategy! What gives??

Can any one suggest few funds that use short term junk bonds as major holding of portfolio?

Also, why do short term bond funds don't use low grade bonds? It does makes sense to own these for lower risk & higher returns?

thanks

Sam
