After his remark at a news conference about refining policy exploded onto the political scene, he called a do-over four hours later to "try this again."

This quote from the attached article is descriptive of one of Obama's biggest challenges....confronting what appears to be a McCain compliant media.

The lead-in for this article attempts to paint Obama with the dreaded "flip-flop" meme. Where there are examples of Obama having an apparent shift in position (this not being an example), the number and scope pale in comparison when compared to that of McCain. You do not see these discussed in the media...instead, the 'straight talk express'" remains a common refrain despite the volume of evidence in conflict with this moniker.

Obama's agressive tact of challenging any misrepresentation of his views is apparently quite the challenge for journalists to assess. As the GOP attempted to mislabel Obama's positon on Iraq as a change in approach, Obama re-engaged the media to counter that specific claim.

This author incorrectly calls this a "do-over". No....Ms. Journalist, if you were doing your job instead of being a mere stenographer, Obama would not have to specifically counter these false claims.
