Good point, Kerryvan--there are no countries with a significant current account surplus and a falling currency--hence the empty lower quadrant. The blue line is a linear regression line; you're supposed (if you are responsible for the statistics) to then calculate how good the fit is between the line and the points. I used to be better at this stuff a long time ago!
While I'm at it, you posted a separate thread with comments from a couple of interesting articles about global investing but didn't say where you read them. Can you give us the source? One of my favorite things about this forum is all the new reading I get to do. Thanks.
