These are changes I have fully supported, voted and worked for my entire life. I'm glad to have seen these days of such progress come to pass and given my age and general state of health I fully expect to see much more progress in future.
Hetty, even though I backed Obama from the get-go I want you and everyone of our extended family on this forum to know that it was never, and never would be, about Hillary's plumbing, so to speak. I admire her many fine qualities of intellect and perseverance as well as her achievements which are a matter of public record. I also believe in general nearly all the things she stands for. Rather I support(ed) Bambi on specific matters of public and foreign policy, especially the issue of the war, and to a much lesser degree my comfort level regarding personal compatibility, i. e., 'likeability'.
But in no way does this mean that I would not be thrilled and delighted to vote for and see a woman elected as POTUS. Fact is, Your Highness, I think there are many potential female candidates out there who'd be capable of doing a MUCH BETTER JOB in that office compared to most men in public life. I'm sure I'll live to see the day when a woman for president is considered a fairly ordinary occurrence in our nation's political life. And when that day arrives we and the world will be much better off for it.
Have a happy Fourth, Your Royal Highness!
Peace and love from your loyal and humble servant,
Flakey
