When I last made these transfers, they suggested that I wait a few days to transfer back in. I didn't ask why, as I was going to do so anyway. Based upon their history with their computer system, I wanted to give them as much time as possible to correct any problems that might show up. Also, at the time, I wanted to avoid doing anything that might raise a red flag on this procedure.

I agree with your previous comment (excuse me if I don't restate it acurately) that participants in TIAA Traditional who do not intend to annutize, should take action to capture the best possible interest rate.
From TIAA's perspective, I expect to see the continuation of the vintage system due to the large sums held in the more restrictive RA's. It will be interesting to see:
1) How the overall vintage rates change next March
2) If the current spread in annuity payout rates is maintained, and
3) Expanding on #1 if old vintage interest rates are changed by a uniform amount as they were last March (increased by 0.25%).
