gaiuslives, read the original post and tell me again where the rancor lies. The military professionals call this the "long war", and they do so for a reason. It will most likely take longer than 10 or 15 years, but that is the nature of asymmetric warfare and terrorist organizations. This is not two conventional armies facing each other across a battlefield as we had in WWII. I disagree with your opinion that "Bush blew it." I am of the opinion that recognizing we are at war instead of "at litigation" is the correct strategy for confronting radical Islamic terrorist organizations. Personally, I think Clinton "blew it" with the way he handled it. His strategy led to the ability of radical Islam killing thousands of Americans, and if Obama abandons the strategy of war and reverts to treating these people as criminals, it will lead to the same results.
