The rules for the HO tracking YTD are clear and in our archives someplace. This is a cash flow accounting and all money in and out is included. Look for Bobbis simple method. Some of use XIR and there is another program cretaed by Don B that does a good job of total returns.

What is XIR?

 

Easy one first. Thats should have been XIRR, an Excel Spreadsheet internal rate of return function. Fairly complex, hence Bobbi's simple method.

 Hard one next:

Looks like M* deleted our HandsOn archive. The new forum layout is part of the reason I don't post here anymore. I have no idea how to find the posts with the rules these days. I suppose it is a matter of looking back to posts that are three or four years old.  

I am terrible at searches, you need to know the exact words and the exact spelling.
