Switch grass does have potential as a marginally productive land crop. It is certainly better than trying to make that land produce corn, which is what we are doing now. I would hate to see prime crop land converted to switch grass, and I don't know how you would stop that if it gets higher subsidies.

Sugarcane, I'm still undecided. I don't really understand the environmental impact on the tropics, or if that same acreage could be better used for a real food crop.
