We need real election reform in this country. Kinda surprised the Dems are not making this an issue.
1. We should make it easier for independents (Barr, Nader, Perot, whoever) to get on the ballots nationwide.
2.We should however, not allow them to 'spoil' an election. In a Presidential election, should any candidate (Bush, Clinton, whoever) fail to obtain a majority of the votes, a runoff election should be required with the two leading vote-getters from the first round.
3. We should convert to a single, national, vote for President, based on the popular vote. (Rather than holding 50 state elections which are award electoral college members).
4. Election day(s) should be national holidays: No commercial venues open. Just the vote.
