Re: Obama's Rove think they can win w/o FL and OH dreemer  06-17-2008, 9:56 AM | Post #2529316

I think this election will have a whole new dynamic which may render conventional punditry useless, and that is the massive voter registration drives organized by Project Vote / Acorn and Obama's own volunteers. There was an article in the NYTs this weekend about Louisiana election officials being overwhelmed, with some predicting utter chaos on election day as people show up to vote who filled out incomplete registration forms, and even though they are trying to contact these people ahead of time, there are so many with bad addresses and phone numbers, it is nearly impossible. I feel sorry for the little old ladies who make up the bulk of election day volunteers who are going to have to deal with this.

If this is a close race, every district is going to be aggressively contested. And it makes me wonder if election day chaos might be part of Obama's political strategy because it is in keeping with the Saul Alinski method of gaining political power which Obama has been associated with his whole political career.
