401k without a clue what to choose finchuck  06-16-2008, 1:43 AM | Post #2528897  |

My employer opened up a 401K for us. They're giving me all of these funds and telling me to decide how much of each I'd like to buy. How the heck am I supposed to choose? I have a Roth and all I picked was my date of retirement, it does the rest for me.

I'm 25. I have a fund targeting retirement on 2045 in my Roth. How can I closely mimic that with the funds below? Any help would be really helpful. My company can't help me. Most people are just choosing 10% of 10 funds blindly. I'd like to have a little more direction that that. I wish they just had the target retirement date or "conservative, moderate and aggressive" choices instead of this stuff.
