1. Good Infro from my peers

2. " you plan on adding more shares After this Yrs distribution to lower your cost'?   And what if the PPS is HIGHER than it is now or come that time? Odds R, being a Balanced fund, it better be Higher, not Lower...

3. I buy shares based upon how the individual fund is doing and what an average % drop it has had in past, not what the S&P or anything else is doing..Why? If it's a Balanced Fund with Bonds, it ain't gonna move like those indexes( or it better not) and My Bal Funds have a max 50% difference at best vs the S&P.. Thus I buy when my Bal Funds drop about 50% as much as the S&P ( S&P drops 5%, expect the fund to drop 2.5% and buy )

4. FBALX? Why? R U forced to buy this thru a #401k?  Fido has some nice Funds, but their Bal. funds ain't one of them.. ( Only a 8% past 10 yrs ) Even FAIRX is alot better choice or at the least, the likes of FPACX,OAKBX,PRWCX and/or PRPFX. ( For Tax accounts? OAKBX & PRPFX) Like most Big Fund families, they have alot of "marginal to underperforming " Funds only to Keep the Investors $ in House. If those underperforming funds only do 1-2 % less, while owing some others that do alot better, most investors stay in them.

5. "Big mistake"? Why? Did you invest more than 20% of your total $ in it? And are you playing with $50 Grand or More? Did you Loose more than $10k?  If not? It's no big deal.. Nickels and dimes when you look at it over "the Long Term"  to your Total $ invvested and  if you rectify things...

If you insist on owing FBLAX? I'd be buying Now to lower your CPPS ave- 'Buy on the Dips, sell on the Spikes".. And  Historically? Bal. funds do very well in the 4th & 1st Qtrs..as does the S&P...but then again? But that can Improve your odds over yrs ahead..

If you Truely believe in a Fund? Why R u Wanting to Sell it? didn't do your Homework? Or Probably didn't know How to do all the Homework/Research and using several evaluations to compare to other like kind of funds?

And Maybe convert to DCA'ing for now?..and quit trying to 'Time the Market" or play all those other complicated Games.. your odds are against you if you don't...like you found out with this play...espeicially if you aren't "fully " familar with The basics of investing, inwhich you really should grab a couple of books and take this summer to catch up..

otherwise/ best just be a (ugh) indexer... Q. Have you set up a port. of Comparable index funds to see and compare?

Hope this helps
