Hello Ben,
The data is in a Word document with the tables defined so that I only have to change the data from month to month. The fonts, colors and formatting are on the Word document. It took a little time to set up, but going forward updating is easy. I have found that it is better to copy and paste from Word than to use the "Paste From Word" function because copy and paste seems to maintain the integrity of the formatting.
I developed my posting style to make it easier for others in the forum to easily read what my investment style is. In addition, I employed Mike's idea of not only showing my holdings, but my target allocation for each asset class and/or sub asset class. IMO, the purpose of this monthly update is to provide other investors who take a "Hands On" approach to managing their portfolios with some ideas that they may wish to consider in the future.
Best wishes,
Bill
My hat is off to you Bill. I have never done anything but text in Word. I do most of my tables and such in spreadsheets, but have not had much luck moving stuff from a spreadsheet to a word processor.
When I still worked, I could always ask a coworker who was computer savvy how to do stuff, but now I don't have that luxury. Each year I am away from the workplace, I get more and more obsolete.
