I do not honestly believe that Arab nations want the destruction of israel. They are a pragmatic business like people and many can envisage a situation similar to that enjoyed by South Africa, in southern Africa. Israel the economic and intellectual powerhouse of the mid east, with arab oil providing the Capital and huge amounts of semi skilled cheap labour on tap.
Sadly the similarities with SA are all to real with the Palestinian in the role of the Black African .
A friend of mine believes that the majority of wars in the future will be fought over access to water. That is why Israel will unless forced by the US never allow a Palestinian State.Any viable Palestinian State would include the Jordan river and its environs.
that has allways been the sticking point to any of the potential deals over the years Israels insistance of retaining control of a strip of land on the Jordan in effect keeping control of the areas water supplies and preventing Palestine having a common land border with jordan.Forget the right of return Jerusalem as capital, water is the issue and acommon land border both of which Israel will not allow.
