Twinlabs - Ugh. I hope nobody's getting kickbacks! It seems like this really
is an uphill battle, doesn't it. Good for you for getting the previous
employer to switch to Fidelity. That gives me hope that it can be done.
I've checked out Employee Fiduciary. It seems like a pretty good option.
I
also talked to Vanguard a couple of weeks ago. Apparently you can have
a VG 401(k) if you have $1M in plan assets, but they will have someone
else do the paperwork. If you have $10M in plan assets, then they will
do the paperwork directly. I know my husband's plan has more than $1M
in assets, but they may not have $10M.
I'm working on a
spreadsheet right now that compares JH funds to comparable funds from
other companies, showing how hosed we're all getting on fees.
Hopefully it will be a good sales tool (of course this assumes I can
figure out how to get the math to work). Doing an apples-to-apples
comparison is a good idea. Is there anything else to compare besides #
of employees, total $ in plan, list of current funds and % allocated to
each fund?
I appreciate your thoughts.
