Thanks one and all for your comments.  I pretty much agree that by itself CR does not give us a clear picture of financial health, but taken in context with  other  indicators of financial health it might give us a little more insight. 

At any rate it must be a little more than an inside baseball type of thing or the number would not be computed or published.

Incidentally, on Morningstar, if you go to key ratios, then click on to the financail health tab and scroll to the bottom of the page you will see CR listed by year and the lateset quarter.
