The brochure for Thornburg Investment Income Builder Fund says the fund "aims to provide the icing on the cake with growing dividend income."
For me, the dependable and growing dividend income IS the cake. If I get some icing in the form of capital appreciation, then so much the sweeter. But, if I don't, I can still eat pretty good.
By the way, I notice that the fund has invested in a company that some might refer to as an ultra high yielder - one with a 13%+ current yield.
Regards.
