That's one thing that Obama has right. High gas prices is the only thing that will cut our consumption of oil. High gas prices make alternative energy more attractive. We must shift away from fossil fuels instead of drilling more oil wells if our children and grandchildren are to survive climate change caused by greenhouse gases. No one can deny that the polar caps are melting and global temperature is rising at an alarming rate. For now, high gas prices will get those unnecessary SUVs and full size pickup trucks off the road. I'd like to see gas gradually go to $10 a gallon. It's already around $10 a gallon (GBP 5) in the UK. The British do well.
