I just verified that my purchase of additional shares of UMBIX went through. You can definately buy more UMBIX through Fidelity if you already own it!!

When Columbia first took over UMBIX, Fidelity told me I wasn't able to buy UMBIX just like they told you. And, their online system wouldn't allow a purchase.

I intended moving an account (with UMBIX) to Schwab at least a week or so ago and luckily, the rep I talked to (in person) confused my SEP-IRA account with setting up a SEP program for a business (some of these reps are simply clueless -- not just Schwab, but Fidelity also). So, I tried again this morning (over the phone) and the rep told me I wouldn't even be able to buy additional shares of UMBIX if I did transfer the account (only institutional purchases were possible).

Anyway, it's been kinda crazy but it looks like Fidelity is working out (at least for now).

Buy it while you can!
