I also established a small position in SEQUX in my Vanguard Brokerage IRA, despite the fact that they can't reinvest any capital gain or income distributions (dividends). I have called Vanguard to suggest that they renegoiate that with Sequoia because I'd prefer that the dividends be reinvested (they have often paid relatively large distributions, and their unrealized gains make up around 44% of the net assets so it's conceivable that your investment in SEQUX will be largely liquidated - returned to you in cash - over time.)
If you own SEQUX through Vanguard Brokerage, I would urge you - strongly URGE you - to call Vanguard Brokerage to tell them you'd like your SEQUX dividends reinvested. I believe they listen to clients and if enough of us call, it could make a difference.
Regards.
