Sorry, but I dont agree.
It is the premise that the idea or question is only legitimate if it is inline with Boglehead views, the intolerance, that gets people like Tim frustrated.
Then Arron contradicts himself and says its not that his way is the right way. So it does not have to be right to be legitimate, just in line with his beliefs?
So your saying that if I dont completely agree with the boglehead philosophy or have not found it to be the only right way or dont believe they are the winners of the argument, that I am not welcome here?
What if I am interested in this philosophy, compelled by what I have learned so far but not totally convinced, sitting on the fence if you will.......I am not welcome to come here to debate in an effort to discover the truth, my vision of the truth? So then where am I to go to learn more about "the way"?
I expect this kind of post from Arron, just more inflammatory nonsense. However Paul, another poster who I deeply respect and helped me in the past, I am quite surprised at you! Yes it is a forum to discuss Bogle philosophy, but only if I already pledge my allegiance? That is appalling! Luckily, I will not let Arron paint all that frequent this board with the same broad brush. I am sure Chin does NOT feel this way and many others as well.
I am sure if someone posted "total return vs income investing" on the income and dividend investing board, a very civil discussion would take place that would help all the participants learn and end up leaning more or less in a direction that suits them, without any name calling. A real class act over there!
