Expense ratios in index funds varmit77  04-24-2008, 8:37 PM | Post #2511481  |

Hello,

I have two general questions for the forum:

1. Why are the expense ratios for the institutional index funds offered by TIAA CREF as much as double in some cases compared with those in the same class at Vanguard?

2. When looking at the data on a couple of the individual index funds in TIAA CREF I notices both a "net" and "gross" expense ratio value. Can anyone tell me the difference and basically which one I would expect to get charged? As they say, every little bit can make a difference.

Thanks - Varmit77
