So they might prove the case against Gabelli. So they might fine Gabelli a few million. So Gabelli will continue to grace CNBC which is where people who invest in his funds hear about him and not the WSJ.

As to when is enough "enough"- Greed knows no bounds. Trying to apply logic here is waste of time. The real question to ask is how of much of the money Gabelli has made is legit. Because why would someone do something like this if he can legitimately earn money?
Don't want to sentence Gabelli before anything's proven against him. After all, SEC is famous for making cases against those it can actually win - Martha Stewart anyone? - instead of against those that are robbing people blind. So time will tell what good this case will bring about.
To me it is clear that bad people will do bad things. The death penalty does not stop people from committing murder. So why should one believe a slap of a few million dollars is going to stop anyone from stealing money from investors?
