American funds...time to move on... what next? pellicola  04-14-2008, 10:33 PM | Post #2508410  |

I have across a Roth IRA a SEP IRA and Traditional IRA investments with the American Funds family. Since last year my investment has gone down about $8000. I am getting ready to invest for tax year 2007 and want to choose something besides the American Funds family - mainly to diversify. I will do this via a SEP IRA... any suggestions where to put my money (approx $45K)?

Here is the breakdown of my American Funds Holdings:

ROTH IRA - AWSHX 14.7%, AGTHX 18.4%

SEP IRA - ANWPX 35.9%, AEPGX 18%

Traditional IRA - AICCX 6.3%, AWSHX 2.6%, AGTHX 2.7%, QXTZQ 1.4% (JP Morgan Muni MMKT)

After seeing some of the portfolios on this site I fear I am way underdiversified.

Any thoughts on where to put this next $45000? Thanks.
