MyraL:

I've no doubt that some patriots will soon respond, calling you a traitor if not worse.

First, a question:  If the "surge" is working as well as Bush and McCain say it is, why can't they say when the "surge" will subside?  In other words, wasn't "surge" just another word for "escalation."  (Which, when some Dems suggested that, resulted in their being called traitors, or worse.)

Second, a point:  According to a recent article in the Washington Post, since 2003 the profits of the top five U.S. oil companies have risen from $40 billion to $241 billion.  As for the price of gasoline and heating oil -- well, you can answer that for yourselves.

I happened to take my airline flight in about 10 years last month.  In several airports a voice would occasionally come on the PA, saying that the terror alert is orange.

That's the second-highest, right?   Just one step below, "We're under attack!!!"

That's what 5 years in Iraq has got us.

But hey, the Dow was up 300 points today.  And we've got a volunteer military, so I don't have to worry about my kids getting drafted the way I did 29 years ago.

      "Bring 'em on!" I say.
