Its free trade and the Airbus planes were most likely cheaper and/or a better quality than those Boeing made.  If we buy things just because they are made in the USA, then those companies/products have no incentive to improve quality, technology or efficiency.

Boeing will be just fine.  They are trouncing Airbus in the commercial airline space with their new 777.
