I owned the limited partnership for Public storage years ago when it was first offered and I currently own one of their preferreds. Your thinking is not flawed but I look at it little differently. I go with the one with the longest duration to "call". I would hate to see the issue called when we have interest rates very low, making it difficult to reinvest. Hopefully within 4 years or so this will all shake out. Another point, take a look at symbol ATT. That is the company AT&T 's preferred. It is somewhere around a 6.3 yield ( little lower than PS) but a long term to call and an extremely strong company.
