Hi to the wise man from Cape Cod

You should be a happy camper. I got on Bloomberg today to check what is happening and I found that all of your muni CEF's are up 6% or more and that  GHI is up 4 times more ytd than most of the funds in that group and, of course, the John Hancock preferred funds are doing very very well. Congratulations and thanks for your help.

For some time, I have thought the equity market was going to continue to go down and that people would be shifting money to other asset classes. When ever I have a set of assumptions, I track information to see if the predictions were on target or not. All predications will not be correct, of course, but I expect to have few rude surprises.

So, I use Bloomberg and I look at all Fidelity and Vanguard funds and I sort with the closed end web site to finds out if things are moving in the direction I expected. Seems to be this is especially meaningful when investors are moving assets. In another post which may have read, I mentioned that I called the fixed incoem specialist I deal with at Schwab on Friday, and he sounded stressed out. I asked him what was going on and he said the phone was rining off the hook with people trying to buy muni bonds and not getting the rate they had hoped to get.

I have a question. I have invested in munis and preferreds and might be close to reaching the limit of how much I want to invest in those two groups. What other groups would you suggest either for an IRA or for a taxable account?

I have put my toe in the water with LSBRX, WIW and GHI - a motley collection of bond funds, and I also own GEJ. I am not just sure how to sort these out.

In addition, I have heard many good things about MLP's from different sources and have started my due diligence.

Have a good day!

Ed

Getting on this forum has been a God send for me. I have gotten so many good investment ideas from several of the members.
