So far, all the proposals I have seen do not seem to amount to much of anything; either taken separately, or even in aggregate.

For instance, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac plan to raise their asset ceiling by 2%.  Sounds positive.  If you look at the fine print, it will be about $30 billion a year.  Practically nothing. 

In my opinion, these proposals are just political window-dressing.  This way, one bureaucracy or another can say they are doing something and pass the buck on to the next guy. 

For better or worse, no one really wants to take significant action...yet.  Its all political posturing.
