Some examples of what's going through my mind as possible answers:

* All low cost active funds with expense ratio below X.

* All active funds from the following fund families: Vg, D&C, TRP, CREF, ...

* All active funds that satisfy the following filters...

These are just brainstorming, not answers (obviously). I have no experience with active funds, except VAAPX in Life Strategy Growth in my early investing days. Expecting a lot to learn from this thread.
