My previous flip phone (a Samsung) did not have the outside window to identify caller, but it did have an option so that I could open the phone w/o automatically answering to see who was calling.
I now have a Motorola RAZR phone and find the exterior window very convenient. I also have discovered the built-in speakerphone option (and mute feature) by pressing the correct button on the side during a call and someone showed me how to turn on the voicedial feature (call home...did you say "call home"...yes..."calling home"), but I forget which button it was.
