There is a ton of information about DFA funds on this board. Just type in DFA at Diehards.org and you can do the research yourself.
Basically DFA funds are sold by financial advisors. You can't buy them the same way you buy the Vg Total Stock Market Index (VTSMX).
The DFA funds are passive funds as opposed to index funds.
