...on the other side of the coin, you wonder if Olmert would have reacted with such massive force had he known of the outcome.
It may have been a miscalculation on both sides but the end result seems to be that Hezbollah will be stronger and Israel will be weaker, at least in the short term.
War is unpredictable.
