I am in a minority here because I thought TMND was vastly overrated. There isn't any real advice or insight. Basically the book implores you to:
1. Live beneath your means,
2. Save till it hurts,
3. Buy used cars.
Aren't these rules intuitive and followed by all true Diehards?

This book has been discussed many times here. I recall one writer indicated the book was based primarily on interviews with small business owners. Don't know if that is true but see no reason to doubt it.

I agree with AutoPilot (#11) that miserness can certainly be overdone. Just go to the "Tightwad Tips" forum here on M* and look at some of the goofy ideas presented.
