Hi all,
It's perhaps noteworthy that in _The Four Pillars of Investing_, Bill Bernstein includes Vanguard's International Value Fund in some of his model portfolios' allocation to international stocks. See Table 13.3 on p. 256. And "Taxable Ted's" portfolio on pp. 268 and 270 and "Young Yvonne"'s on pp. 272 and 275.
[BTW, apropos the portfolio of "Young Yvonne," Bill makes the apparent mistake of thinking she'll be able to escape the $10 annual fee on index funds under $10K once her total account reaches $50K--see his discussion of her eventual switch from the Total Int'l index fund to four different international funds in the middle paragraph on p. 274 and the table on p. 275. As seasoned Diehards know from answering the numerous queries posted about Vanguard's complex fee structure, that particular $10 fee for an index fund with less than $10K (except the REIT index fund) is not waived even if one has more than a total of $50K in money at Vanguard.]
Best wishes,
Bob
